This here was a a great buy! I negotiated these as an add-on purchase from the seller I purchased the McGregor Wingtips from. After investigating the minor wear online, I knew these were a great pair. I had originally planned on ripping off the rubber soles and replacing them with lugged soles, but when I opened the box I was amazed at the condition of the Dainite rubber soles they had on them. Like the Mcgregor Wingtips, I don't think these have been worn more than 1-2 times. These pebble grain bluchers are also highly versatile. They may not be compatible with your nicest suit, but they can certainly be worn with a pair of slacks and button down for office casual attire. They would also look awesome with a pair of jeans and a nice casual shirt.Not to mention, they are also insanely comfortable!
Given the condition, I did not think these were worth ripping a part to do anything crazy. So, I simply cleaned them off really well, applied some edge staining and polishing to the upper welt to sharpen them up, conditioned and lightly wax polished the uppers, and called it a day. This pair is as good as new, and could probably last a good 10 years of regular wear without needing any cobble work done.
The technical name for these are the Allen Edmonds Leeds 2.0 Plain Toe Blucher built on the welted 511 last. They are a size 10.5 US. This is a really great casual/semi-formal pair of shoes that I would be sad to see go, but my rack is getting full, so this pair has found its way to my must sell list.
